Today was better because I had an actual plan for what I wanted to do. The morning started well with a trip to Cafe Haiti. TripAdvisor hasn’t steered me wrong yet as far as restaurants in foreign countries are concerned. If I had more disposable income, maybe I would actually go exploring for food. This morning seemed a bit colder than previous days have been, but it was pretty cloudy all day to be honest. I don’t think there will be a clear night for the aurora while I’m here. At Cafe Haiti, I had an Icelandic Pancake, or Pönnukök. It was really good, but instead of a pancake, it was more like a crepe. I got one with cream and jam inside and it was great.

After my pancakes, I wanted to head back to Laugavegur because all the shops were closed for me yesterday. The church was my first stop though since it was located slightly past Laugavegur. The church was pretty nice, and if I wake up early enough tomorrow I plan to go to the service they have there. Not sure if I’ll be up in time or not. The church has a giant organ which is apparently a must see when there are performances on it. They also had one of those candle trees where you donate and can put on a candle, but people kept knocking off other candles on accident. Even in Italy, I had never seen that many candles being knocked off.

In front of the church, there was a statue of Lief Erikson which I didn’t expect, but which also makes sense at the same time.

I had a hotdog for lunch at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsr which was really good and pretty cheap. In fact, at this point I had only spent maybe 1000 ISK total including the hotdog which is equivalent to around $10. For breakfast and lunch that’s not bad at all, especially by Icelandic standards.

The last place I ate at was Núðluskalin, a noodle place recommended to me by multiple sites. While the noodles I had tasted good, they were a bit on the dry side which made them difficult to eat more than a few bites of. I think if I went back, I would eat noodles with a soup base included versus just a sauce.

This post has taken longer than usual to type out because I’m watching NA LCS at the same time. Don’t know what it is, but the stream to watch it at this hostel is a tad horrendous. The walk this morning was nice, so I got some good pictures. Later in the day, it got too cloudy to get any good pictures. Good lighting for pictures, but not for scenic pictures.

It's time to head home

I also went to a yoga class today. It was taught by someone who works at the hostel I’m staying at. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, but it was very fun.

Not sure what I’ll be doing tomorrow, but I know I’m going to book my walking tour for Monday probably. Also planning one good meal while I’m here in Reykjavik, so I’ll need to decide either tomorrow or Monday where I want to eat. Tuesday is coming with a quickness.
